MOOC ‘Pastoralism in Development‘ – Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), UK

Joanna provided ongoing guidance in all the key stages of the MOOC’s development, from start to finish. Joanna is a pleasure to work with and we at IIED benefitted hugely from her expertise. Her knowledge of developing online learning courses is vast, and the advice she gave was fundamental to us getting our MOOC off the ground, and indeed to its success. Joanna is incredibly personable, and her own style of sharing knowledge is clear, direct and jargon free. I would highly recommend Joanna for any collaborations for developing online learning courses. A brilliant person to work with! (Teresa Corcoran, Content Manager)

Digital Technology in Capacity Development, book. INASP

This book is perhaps the best testimonial of the contribution I have made over the past 8 years to INASP’s digital learning, by leading on the development of numerous blended and online courses for the participants in the Global South. The books synthesises the accumulated learning on how to reach those that are harder to rich, how to use gender-responsive pedagogy for better equity of participation and outcomes, how to respect the multitude of learning cultures and traditions in your learning design. It’s open access and you can download a free copy

This book offers an experience-based account of what it takes to provide enabling environments for educator capacity development and student learning, as well as how to make change happen. (Professor Laura Czerniewicz, University of Cape Town)
